Welcome to Innovation Theory Games. This is my personal website, blog, etc. My name is Ben Johnson and I am a currently unemployed graduate of DigiPen Institute of Technology and an avid game developer. The tabs above will help you navigate to the various aspects of my site if you so please. This is a Zero budget site for a guy who doesn't know a ton of web coding/design, so take it as it is =P Thanks for visiting.
The idea behind Innovation theory is that, as a designer, I can't come up with the perfect idea right off the bat. It is an iterative process and all I can really do is innovate on what I have seen before, But it is through many small innovations that games grow and evolve and become vastly more innovative products. This is what I attempt to do and what I aspire to.
I found out today that my Metal Gear Solid 4 Narrative Analysis has been chosen as one of the winners of the 2009 Austin Game Developer's Conference Game Narrative Review Contest. It means this September I will get to go to AGDC and have a poster summerizing my analysis displayed and will get to present it in a poster session. I have never been to Texas before, so I am super excited. And hopefully, if I still don't have a job come September, AGDC will be a great chance for me to network and hopefully get a job. Anyone interested can read the analysis for themselves via the link above, and anyone interested in seeing me at AGDC, stay tuned here because I will be posting updates as I receive them.
